What will u do in your last minute?
In the beginning of getting into the website, it will ask to type one thing you will like to do in the last minute, and you can see other people's respond after listening the old guy. It's a quite interesting website that you can share and interactive with people world-widely.
Maxim Zhestkov
Maxim Zhestkov is one of my favorite art directors. His animations are full of simple graphics with high contract colors. I think there is no words than "exquisite" to explain how he treated with his style. All of these graphic elements, colors and movements are extremely allured.

dvdp
Im not sure if it is the website of a design studio, but the animations in the website are extremely amazing. Most of the works are not definded as motions. They are just repeats of same graphics, but there are some claver points in the works. I think the featured series is the 3D strip animation that will engaged viewers into the organic and smooth motion.

David Wilson
David Wilson, the art director is good at using mix medias to create interesting films that differ from other music videos, and his works are full of personal trait and artistic. Recently, he made a music video for Japanese singer, he used 2D to perform 3D and the mition graphics are inspiring. He also did some stop motion projects which are interesting as well.

Simple is good
Another example that used simple graphics to create a new virsion. IMPACTIST just revealed their work: Last Heist EP. It contains four short animations which perfectly match the musics. The first one is Spheremetrical (Here With You). It used simple graphic like circles or lines..etc to compose the short film. Except the interesting content (two circles' relationship),IMPACTIST used 2D to perform 3D scene (make me WOW from 1:15) and the music is wonderfully fit the tempo of animation. My favorite part is that when the 3D circle is corssing the squares, the scene is like mathmatical something like that.
The other one I like is The Magical Number Seven, the combination of short film with animation. The texture of the film is good that seems like old monocrome style. The main objects of the animation are also simple graphic with bright colors. Im not quite understand the relationship between the title and the film, but the vision and tempo are good.

Kaleidoscopic Fashion Spectacular
Target, Mother NY and LEGS arranged the installation for Kaleidoscopic Fashion Spectacular, which used 155 rooms , 66 dancers and different colors of lights to be the pixals of Standard Hotel. It contained the shape changing with music and interaction with the dancers It is not only intriging but inspring because of the combination of traditional mediums with high tech that created a new live experience. The other example is LG dLite ad which used cell phones to be the background and pixles to animate the love stroy between boy and girl.

Shynola and “Strawberry Swing”and WeWereMonkeys: Land of Talk “It’s Okay”
Im always thingking how a special music video like coldplay's “Strawberry Swing” or "It's Okay" by Land of Talk comes up and how these designers menge the budgets and time with commissioners. In the interviews with Motionographer, they shared their experiences.
"Strawbey Swing" is the song about missing and searching, and the tone of melody is pretty lively. These are some of its lyric:
"Strawbey Swing" is the song about missing and searching, and the tone of melody is pretty lively. These are some of its lyric:
People leaving all the time inside
A perfectly straight line
Don't you wanna curve away
It's such
It's such a perfect day
The designer used stop motion which was made of chalks and an actor to perform the cute song. Like another videos from coldplay, the concept of video is not quite related to the lyrics, but the variety of vision and the rhythm are outstanding like the parts that the super man is flying upon the city and the explosion of squirrel transforms to scattered butterflies. The way they used non-technology materials to exhibit 3D is the trait to be marked in the thousands of stop motion projects. I recalled the mv,"Her morning elegance" by Yuval and Merav Nathan, which performed the fresh felling twoard a girl by fabrics like clothes or pellows. This video is quite famous if you check the time people watch in Youtube. The most different point between these two videos is the relationship with lyric and tone. Chris was asked this question in the interview ( actually I have this question after I saw "Strawberry Swing") and they did aware of that to be compared with "Her morning elegance".However, I think the comparism is not excisted because the proposals and materials are different, but, the coordination of "Her Morning Elegance" is better than the other one. It's more simple and clean, and the content is easily connected with the lyric and melody. That is to say "Her Morning Elegance" gets more integrity and find the balance between vision and hearing.
"Its Okay" is the song about regret, sad, give up. The main scene of this black and white video is a long hair Amazon queen rides a horse in a space-like vally. The slow motion and fantacy of each element ( Her hair or all the scenes) is match to the tone of the song. In the interview with Motionograoher, they told about the procedure they made this video. Whether from the planning to the exacution of the video, the mv is practiced. This is what they said from the interview, and I think its quite a myth for designers:
"This doesn’t usually mean literally translating the lyrics into visuals, but more like using the mood, or overall feel that we get from the music as our inspiration."
They did made the video esthetic with less literally lyric translating. However, can it touch the feeling of people who is lack of sense of beauty ? He/She may swich to another channel if the subject can't arouse interesting (it doesnt relate to his/her life) It seems like "cliche" still work for people; they will engage in the atmosphere of music and video rather than a single aspect. It's complement each other.
